Having loaded some shopping into my car my attention was drawn to the figure of an elderly man who was standing outside the entrance to the supermarket.
He was carrying a partially filled shopping bag but kept peering into the store rather anxiously, he then put a cigarette in his mouth and lit it, the cigarette remained in his mouth and much smoke was inhaled and exhaled, as I left the car park he appeared to be much calmer and probably thankful for what used to be called ‘a gasper’ bringing relief to the desperate and anxious.
