Here is an oil pastel I made of that view in 1973. The vibrancy of this medium remains fresh nearly 45 years later.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The coal-fired Padiham Power Station in the background\u00a0began operation in 1926 and generated power from 1927 till it was closed in 1993.
