I was spending time (whilst on a camping holiday with my family) making sketches of the surroundings of an Italian farm, buildings, carts animals etc.

One afternoon the farmer called me into his home and I was surprised to see about eight people in the large living kitchen of the farm.
His wife pointed to one of the children and to my sketchbook and pencil and I correctly understood that she wanted me to make a sketch of the child.
The farmer had given me a glass of wine and I made sketches of every child in the room his wife and him and I signed them – I must have spent well over an hour on this but I was given freedom to work wherever I wished for the rest of my visits.
